Going home …..

I’m going home, or should I say ‘we’ are going home. There’s so many beautiful places on this earth. From Cities to countrysides from beaches to snow layered landscapes. But you only get one home. It’s not essentially where you were born or raised. But somewhere your soul comes to life, inspiration is replaced in your veins and your heart only beats with pleasure. A home is somewhere where you feel unreachable …… untouchable and that your life has meaning. The beauty of this place is indescribable.  And for me that place is Oxfordshire,  in England. I moved back to Wales three years ago and have returned to Oxford frequently both alone, with my daughter and a few times with my current partner. He fell in love with the place it has quaint cafés,  old English charm and the politest and loveliest people I have ever met. Now that my partner has found a job up there he moves up in a week. And when my daughter finishes school in three weeks I make the trip to move up there again. Although moving somewhere can be stressful this is the most excited I could be to welcome such stress. We leave behind our world…

And create a new one. As Oxford is such a beautiful place I will no doubt have endless places to photograph. …… but a slight pain stings my heart …… because to be able to capture the soul of Oxford is something I don’t want to do.
I don’t want to encapsulate it in a image and display it to the world …. I want to preserve it in my memory and only see it through my mind and not share it with anyone.
